Information

The Black Horse is over 500 years old and reputed to be the oldest pub in the Chilterns.  A cosy traditional environment (without electronic games or television!), awaits you.  Our inviting open log fire will keep you warm in winter as you relax in our inglenook fireplace and we are happy to serve you food outside in our large garden during the summer.  Ample car parking is available and children and dogs are always welcome.

Bar

Four cask conditioned ales, to cask marque standard are always available.  As further recognition of our well kept cellar we have just been awarded Runner Up Pub of the Year by Mid Chilterns CAMRA 2012.  We are also in the Good Beer Guide 2012.  Tring's Side Pocket for a Toad and Fuller's London Pride are permanently on the bar along with two other unusual guest beers.

Food

Traditional food at affordable prices is served throughout the week (except Sunday evenings) and where possible sourced locally or through local suppliers.  We have also just been awarded 5 Stars by Chiltern District Council Environmental Health.  Booking is advisable for our Over 60s lunches on Wednesday and  Thursday (2 courses for £8.50) which is served from 12 noon - 2pm and our Sunday Roast (2 courses for £12.50) which is served from 12 noon – 3pm.
